Alan’s decades of experience includes serving as:
Law clerk with Judge Hillary J. Crain for the First Circuit Court of Appeal
Appointed by the LA Supreme Court 36 times to serve as Ad Hoc judge for Slidell, Bogalusa, and Hammond City Courts
Hearing Officer for Code Violations at the St. Tammany Parish Bureau of Administration Adjudication
Juvenile Traffic Court Referee for Slidell City Court (Currently known as City Court of East St Tammany)
For over 40 years, Alan has operated a successful private law firm and has appeared and practiced over 1400 times in the courtrooms of the 22nd JDC.
ABOUT ALAN
Born in Bogalusa, Alan has been a Slidell resident with his wife, Deni Talley Black, for 40 years. They have four sons together and became grandparents to three. Deni has been teaching for 36 years in the St. Tammany Parish Public School system. Alan became a member of many local groups to stay involved in the community: Members of the St. Luke Evangelist Catholic Church, St. Luke Knights of Columbus, St. Tammany Chamber of Commerce, Ozone Camellia Club and is a past board member of the Slidell Boys and Girls Club. Alan has a passion for being involved in the communities of Washington Parish and St. Tammany parish for his lifetime.
Alan received his bachelors degree at Southeastern Louisiana University and later received his law degree from Louisiana State University School of Law.
